One of the industry’s leading providers of medium-format camera equipment, Mamiya Leaf now introduces a medium-format digital camera back platform—the Leaf Credo series. Using a novel design concept, Mamiya Leaf has managed to improve both speed and versatility without sacrificing its legendary Leaf image quality. The Leaf Credo series presents three outstanding, feature-laden models including the Leaf Credo 80, Leaf Credo 60 and Leaf Credo 40.

Each one is endowed with a 3.2-inch, 1.15-megapixel touch LCD screen with a user-friendly, 170-degree viewing angle. They also share a suite of stellar onboard tools including Live View on LCD, spirit level, ISO, white balance, histogram and exposure alarms. Another similarity between all three models is the variety of possible custom camera profiles that each user can create. The Leaf Credo series digital backs support up to 12 preview images on a single LCD screen as well. Plus, they support up to 400% zoom, CompactFlash storage and FireWire 800, USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 connectivity options for faster data transfers.

Since each model offers its own high-quality resolution, a closer look into the individual digital back platforms warrants some further attention. The Leaf Credo 80 supports an 80-megapixel resolution, with 10320 x 7752 active pixels. Its exposure time is 1/10,000-120 seconds and it supports a full resolution capture rate of 0.7 frames per second. This translates to undeniable detail and image quality. Plus, with the highest-resolution CCD sensor of the three and a 12.5 f-stop dynamic range, the Leaf Credo 80 reproduces images with unwavering detail and profound tonal differences.

The Leaf Credo 60 supports a 60-megapixel resolution with 8984 x 6732 active pixels. Its exposure time is 1/10,000-60 seconds. And, slightly quicker than the Leaf Credo 80, the Leaf Credo 60 features a full resolution capture rate of 1.0 frame per second. Last in the trio is the Leaf Credo 40, which features a 40-megapixel resolution with 7320 x 5484 active pixels. It supports an equal exposure time to the Leaf Credo 60 and boasts a full resolution capture rate of 1.2 frames per second.

While each model differs in resolution and capture rate, they are all designed for comfortable, effective shooting both indoors and outdoors. They all boast fast dual-core microprocessors as well, which enables very quick image viewing, focusing and editing. Plus, the graphical user interface affords simple navigation across the touch screen—even beyond the LCD area. Depending on your desired resolution and capture rate, the Leaf Credo series is sure to have the medium format digital camera back platform that’s just right for you.
