Impact Mini LiteTrek (LT) Battery and Power Pack System

If you own a battery-powered accessory flash you're well aware of the shortcomings of AA batteries, which include recycling times that start off slow and rapidly become progressively slower, accompanied by a power supply that sputters to a halt far too soon. As a workaround to these real-world demons, most pros ultimately bypass AAs in favor of higher output lithium-ion battery packs, which enable far quicker recycling times over a much longer stretch of time. On that note, meet the Impact Mini Lite Trek (LT) Power Pack.

 The Impact Mini Lite Trek (LT) Power Pack is designed to power  select flashguns from Canon, Nikon, and Quantum, as well as the the Impact Lite Trek 4.0 Flash Head, a self-contained monolight that features 400W/s of output, a modeling lamp, 7" reflector, PC cord and user-replaceable flash tubes. With a high-end power output of up to 400 W/s (with the Impact Lite Trek 4.0), the Mini Lite Trek (LT)'s rechargeable lithium-ion battery offers far greater horsepower over a greater period of time than the quartet of alkaline batteries most flashguns rely on to run the show.

When used with the Impact Lite Trek 4.0 monolight you can expect to pop off about 650 exposures and up to 3,500 exposures per charge at 1/64th-power. Total recharge time for an exhausted battery is about four hours, and the unit features a "fuel gauge" that keeps you apprised of the battery's charge status in real time.

Depending on how much juice you have in the box, recycling times range from 1.0 to 3.5 seconds, which beats the pants off the recycling times afforded by AA batteries. There's also an automatic On/Off power switch that prevents power drainage when the pack is on "hold."

Unlike similar products from other manufacturers, the "battery" part of the package is separate from the power control module, which houses the two flash cord inputs and power output modulators. The benefit of this arrangement is that unlike accessory power packs containing built-in lithium-ion cells, the Impact Mini Lite Trek (LT) Power Pack allows you to quickly swap out batteries and continue shooting for half the price of a second battery plus power module, not to mention a lighter camera bag.

In addition to the Impact Lite Trek 4.0, the Impact Mini Lite Trek (LT) Power Pack is compatible with flashguns from Canon (580EXII, 580EX, 550EX, MR-14EX and MT-24EX with optional Impact CZ cable), Nikon (SB-800, SB80-DX, SB-900 and SB-28 with optional Impact CKE cable) and Quantum QFlash (T5dR, TRIO "BASIC" and TRIO). The Impact Mini Lite Trek (LT) Power Pack is also available pre-packaged with a CKE cable for use with Nikon Speedlights or with a CZ cable for use with Canon Speedlites.

Along with the battery pack and power control module, each Impact Mini Lite Trek (LT) Power Pack ships with a 100-240V AC charger, a case and strap.
