Sony has introduced five new Cyber-shot digicams, each of which features Sony’s new 16.2MP Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS sensor, a new Dual Record mode, which allows you to easily capture hi-res stills while shooting video, up to 10-frame-per-second burst rates at full resolution and Sony’s innovative Intelligent Sweep Panorama mode for wide-field image capture (200°-plus AOV).

Among the more notable highlights of these new digicams include the ability to capture 1080p video at 60 fps and a 3.5” OLED touch screen on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX100V (Black, Red and White), and built-in GPS functionality; a 10x, 25-250mm equivalent zoom and 1080i HD video capture on the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX7V (Black,  Blue, Red and White).

For the more adventuresome there’s the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 (Black, Yellow, Blue, Pink and Silver) which is waterproof down to 16’, can withstand drops from 5’ and stands up to temperatures down to 14°F. Other features of the Sony TX10 include a 3” touch-screen LCD, 1080i HD video capture and a 4x 25-100mm equivalent zoom.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX10 and Cyber-shot DSC-WX9, is a pair of slender, pocket-friendly digicams that along with the aforementioned 16.2MP Exmor sensor, feature 10-frame-per-second image capture at full resolution, 3D Still Capture/3D Sweep Panorama modes and 1080i HD video capture. The DSC-WX10 also features a new high-speed linear AF system that is reportedly markedly faster than the AF systems typically found in pocket-sized digicams, which should prove to be of interest to sports enthusiasts and anyone trying to photograph sugar-fueled tykes.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX9, which is available in Black, Red and Silver, sports a 5x, 25-125mm equivalent zoom and a 3” LCD, and the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-WX10, which is available solamente in Black, sports a wider-range and faster 7x 24-168mm/f2.4 zoom and a 2.8” LCD.

Additionally, each of the above Sony Cyber-shots can capture 3D images in 3D Sweep Panorama and 3D Still Image mode that can be viewed in both 2D and 3D when played back on compatible Sony BRAVIS-series HD TVs.
