Don't use all the sensors on the automatic focus, instead just use the single center focus. Change your focus setting to just the center focus then half press and hold the shutter to focus on what you want using the center focus point. Example the eye when taking a portrait. Then frame your subject and fully press the shutter.
This is the only way to focus on what you want, not on what the camera thinks. So it does'nt matter how many sensor focus points a camera has because most profesional does not use them, since they can't control it.
Frequent mistake for using all this focus point is, it will focus on any flower decorations that is in the frame, not your subject.
