I'm glad I have this on the camera and with the filter completes the weather-sealing. But at $1800 before tax, the x100VI should really come with this in the box, especially since it is required for weather sealing. What is more, the very nice metal lens cap that IS in the box no longer fits snugly on the camera once this and a standard filter are attached. In fact it will just fall off.

the 49mm Filter Thread is just female or male on one end and female on the other end?
The part of the adapter that attaches to the camera lens does not have threads and is a type of mount specific for the lens.And the front is a standard 49mm female thread for filters.

Does this adapter’s silver color have the same hue as the x100v’s silver? I find the V’s silver is some what different to the old models’ silver.
This silver finish on this adapter would be the same as on the X100V.
